Framed crochet

My great-grandmother had a pink pin cushion topped with a delicately crocheted doily. By the time I inherited it, however, it was soiled and falling apart after many decades of use.

I decided to repurpose the item, saving the most special part of it and giving it a second life. It's now framed, again with a pink background, and at home with a cousin. I like that a once utilitarian item now has a place of honor.
